What's in an LRP Quote

  • Coverage Price ($/cwt) — the price floor USDA guarantees for your endorsement, derived from CME futures and adjusted for class and region.
  • Premium Rate (%) — the percentage of total liability charged as gross premium, varying by coverage level (70–100%) and endorsement length (13–52 weeks).
  • Total Liability — head × target weight (cwt) × coverage price × insured share.
  • Federal Subsidy — 35–55% of gross premium, depending on coverage level, plus a 10–15% bonus for Beginning Farmer/Rancher (BFR) and Veteran Farmer/Rancher (VFR).
  • Producer Premium — your out-of-pocket cost after the subsidy.
  • Indemnity Scenario — what RMA would pay you if the Actual Ending Value drops below the coverage price.
